REA/Claims Consulting
Typically, governments are great clients. They pay what they owe, and they pay on time.
Sometimes, however, a disagreement between the government and the contractor can threaten this. Perhaps you’re a construction contractor who discovers site conditions vastly different from those promised in the contract documents. Maybe the government changes the project requirements on you, or drags out government reviews/approvals in a way that increases your labor costs and delays project completion.
In these situations, governments can be some of the most difficult clients. A dispute that might seem obvious and easy to resolve can be met with stonewalling and terse denials. Miss a deadline or fail to follow the required procedures, and you could find yourself without a remedy.
We can help. We understand the procedures necessary to ensure that you get paid, and we will work with your team to draft and send all required notices, to develop well-supported requests for equitable adjustment (REAs), and to submit contract claims. And, we’ll do this all in a way that makes business sense for you by relying on your in-house expertise as much as possible, and right-sizing our own team based on the magnitude of the dispute and the complexity of the issues involved.
We have helped contractors in industries such as construction, architecture, facilities services, and information technology. We look forward to helping you!
